We are excited to announce that we have some new art in the store. Made by local Kansan Kelly Siebert, this art is cut out of various woods using a scroll saw. It is very delicate work, and some of her pieces have incredibly small detail cuts. “Lightning on the Plains” Here’s a word from […]

New pottery lamps are here in the store, and they are as beautiful as the handmade furniture they light up.
These Milk Can lamps, finished in pewter, have elegant black shades with golden interiors that really warm up a space.
These lamps are made by Georgia artist Charlie West, who has been working with clay since 1986. In 1998, Charlie began turning his handmade pottery into stylish lamps and this led to the beginning of Charlie West Lamps. We think that they are beautiful with the handmade furniture, and unique pieces of art for any home interested in having one of a kind pieces. Notice the sparkle in this “lava” finish. This lamp is stunning in person!

We are excited to offer candles at the store. Not only do they smell amazing (we wouldn’t bring in something we didn’t really like!), but they are made in America by the Milkhouse Creamery based out of Iowa. Made with soy and pure beeswax, these candles are great for people with allergies and environmental sensitivities. We are also really excited about these Candle Crocks. They come with recipe cards that match their fragrances, and when you are done with the candle the crocks are reusable as baking dishes. Just put them in the oven to burn off the leftover wax, and then use the included recipe card and bake some Ginger Fig bread, Apple Strudel Cake, or one of our other recipes!
We just put out some beautiful turtle shells that we picked up while in Atlanta for the Market show. There were quite a few things that grabbed our attention at the show, and one of them was the abundance of tortoise-shell print. We scooped up all of the real turtle shells we could find, but we also have some items on the way to the store with the shell print on them. This year they featured a whole floor of Made in America products, so check back with us soon so see what else we picked up!
Happy Holidays everyone! We hope that you had a great Thanksgiving and got to spend it with the ones you love.
Several of our friends got engaged over Thanksgiving so we thought it would be nice to share some of our ring bowls that we have at the store. These decorative ring bowls are handmade and are a beautiful way to keep your rings safe!
We are excited to announce that we have some art in the store from local artist Beverly Dodge Radefeld. Beverly’s oil paintings on midwestern landscapes are vibrant and showcase her unique perspective on the Flint Hills.
With a BFA from Washburn University, Beverly Dodge Radefeld worked as an activity therapist at the renowned Menninger Foundation in Topeka, KS, where she used art as a vehicle to help the healing process. In addition, she ran a small business and volunteered in the community teaching kids and adults many of the art techniques for which she has a deep passion. Early in her career, Beverly found soft sculpture as an outlet to deal with personal grief. Her soft sculpture work has been shown nationwide and throughout England, Ireland and Japan. Twice, her work was selected to ornament the White House Christmas Tree. A few years ago Beverly participated at a plein air retreat, which rekindled her passion for painting.
“I love the simple shapes of the Flint Hills and the color of the open sky. My oil paintings have been the vehicle for me to express these feelings and have allowed me to capture the movement and colors of the soft sculptures that I enjoy.” -Beverly Dodge Radefeld
